Making Major Surgeries Seem Minor

Thanks to new robotic technology now available at Baylor Medical Center at Frisco, many patients no longer have to worry about lengthy down times after surgery. The FDA-approved daVinci® Si Surgical System enables many surgeries to be performed less invasively, typically leading to shorter hospital stays and faster recoveries.

With surgery utilizing the daVinci® Si Surgical System, surgeons insert miniaturized instruments and a 3-D camera through 1- to 2-centimeter incisions. The advanced robotics allow surgeons to view a high-definition image of the surgical site on a computer monitor. The surgeon’s hand movements are translated into micro-movements inside the patient’s body, enabling surgeons to perform complex procedures with enhanced precision and control.
