Prepared Childbirth and Basics of Baby Care
Baylor Medical Center at Garland will hold a prepared childbirth five-week series, Tuesday, March 23, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at the Baylor Garland Diabetes & Parent Education Center, 900 N. Shiloh Rd., in Garland. This class will help prepare expectant mothers and their support person for birth. Classes include discussion of pregnancy, labor and delivery, choices for childbirth, anesthesia, cesarean birth, postpartum care and a tour of the Women’s Center. Relaxation and breathing techniques are taught and practiced to help you through labor and delivery. This class also includes information on the transition into parenthood and the basics of baby care. This class should be started during the sixth or seventh month of pregnancy. Childbirth Refresher
Baylor Medical Center at Garland will hold a childbirth refresher three-week series, Tuesday, March 23, from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., at the Baylor Garland Diabetes & Parent Education Center, 900 N. Shiloh Rd., in Garland. This class is designed for those who have previously given birth and just want a refresher course. It includes a review of pregnancy, labor and delivery, choices for childbirth, anesthesia and cesarean birth, as well as a review and practice of relaxation and breathing techniques. Classes meet once a week for the first three weeks of a Prepared Childbirth series. An optional fourth week, which includes a tour of the hospital, is available at no additional charge.
