Date Awarded: February 19, 2009 HealthCare Heroes is a prestigious and unique annual event that recognizes excellence in the medical community, and is based on nominations from those in the profession and the more than 50,000 readers of the Fort Worth Business Press. Eight physicians on the medical staff at Baylor All Saints Medical Center at Fort Worth and Baylor Medical Center at Southwest Fort Worth were named as 2008 HealthCare Heroes. The following physicians were recognized as 2009 Healthcare Heroes: Randall Crim, M.D. Asad Dean, M.D. Sreenivas Gudimetla, M.D. Gregory Jaryga, D.P.M. George Khammar, M.D. Shinichi Matsumoto, M.D., Ph.D. Donald Murphey, M.D. Janice Tomberlin, M.D.
The Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council (DFWHC) has announced its board of trustees for 2009. Steve Newton, president of Baylor All Saints Medical Center and Baylor Medical Center at Southwest Fort Worth, has been named chairman-elect for 2009 and will serve as chairman of the board in 2010. DFWHC is a 73 member-driven organization with approximately 40 years of service to the health care community of North Texas. Governed by a 13-member board of trustees made up of hospital chief executives officers or chief operating officers, the hospital trade association is committed to the continuous improvement of patient care.
Date Awarded: 2007 Awarded to organizations that have demonstrated excellence in surgical infection prevention based on national performance standards.
Date Awarded:2007 Awarded to the Baylor Diabetes Center, one of the largest multisite programs in the country, to designate recognition for another three years. ADA recognition is necessary for diabetes self-management training reimbursement from Medicare.
